A townhouse of recent historical significance, it was designed by Hugh Hardy and built ground-up in the 1970s and unusual for this largely pre-war landmarked district. We were tasked to rethink the house to suit a small family with the challenge of smartly connecting and parsing out the many split levels to provide interior connection but also privacy. The house was designed on a 30/60 angle with a series of split levels branching off a main, angled stair core and shaft. The exterior angles in and out on both the front and rear facades.
